Washakie County invites you to participate in the following survey. Historically, voters have approved the one-cent sales tax to help fund services, improvements, and projects that benefit our community. Every four years, the Washakie County Board of County Commissioners brings the initiative back to the community to gather input and determine whether voters support continuing the measure. The entities receiving funding can change each cycle, depending on which organizations apply and the needs at that time.

This initiative includes street, curb, and gutter replacements; maintenance and repairs; and addressing drainage issues, as approved by the City Council. The funds may also be used to supplement grants for the Street Improvement Initiative for the benefit of Worland and its citizens.

Please note that Washakie County has not participated in distributions of the one-cent sales tax for the past 12 years, in order to allow a greater share of the funds to be allocated among the entities currently receiving those revenues.

When considering the questions below, it is important to recognize that while emergency medical services are not considered essential by the State of Wyoming, they are especially vital to the citizens and communities of Washakie County. The following questions reference a potential new half-cent sales tax (in addition to the existing one-cent sales tax) that would be dedicated to supporting those services.

  • Contribute to a "Emergency Services Equipment Replacement Account" for emergency service vehicle replacements (ambulances, city and county law enforcement vehicles, fire department vehicles, etc.) and equipment for all emergency response entities
