2.Welcome to Edinburgh!
Thank you for your interest in the 2010 GE Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships.
We need the help of 200+ volunteers between 3 – 5 September 2010 to fulfill a variety of roles, both on the course and in support of this prestigeous event, which will attract around 1000 international competitors to Edinburgh. Challenging courses have been designed to test all competitors, whether paraduathletes, age group contenders or elite athletes.
Holyrood Park is a stunning venue, situated just minutes from the city centre, boasting panoramic views of the city's most iconic buildings and the coastal scenery of the Lothians.
The primary reward for your support is gaining experience and welcoming the world’s duathletes in our capital city, however, event volunteers will receive:-
• Event crew clothing
• Team Picture
• On site catering
• A volunteer momento
• Age Group Event Party
• A ringside view of the event
• New experiences (para and elite sport)
• An opportunity to be involved in the biggest multisport event ever held in Scotland
• Major event experience in the run up to Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014
If you are interested in volunteering your services for some, or all, of the event, please complete this survey and await further instruction from the race organisers. The majority of our communication will be by email. Previous duathlon/triathlon experience is desirable, but not required, and we would ask that you complete the following questionnaire honestly, in order that we can allocate tasks appropriately. Please also complete this if your triathlonscotland club has registered you as a member of their club event squad, as we are seeking some necessary personal information on sizings and dietary needs, etc.
If you have any additional questions regarding volunteering in Edinburgh, please contact Edinburgh2010@triathlonscotland.org in the first instance.
Thank you for you interest in the 2010 GE Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships. We look forward to your involvement in our event.
