Volunteer Application and Event Introduction

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Naval Undersea Museum's annual Discover E Day event! The day is so much fun and we are excited for you to be a part of it! Please read on to see why you are an important part of the day's success, and next steps after you complete this short application.

Volunteers are an integral part of the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum’s operations. Please complete this application to express your interest in being considered for a volunteer position on Discover E Day (Engineering Day), which will take place at the museum on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 8:30am - 3:00pm. After museum staff have reviewed your application, you will be contacted about next steps, which will include a background check.

The purpose of Discover E Day is to inspire children and adults to explore and discover science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By volunteering to help with this event, you will fill an important role in providing a positive and creative environment for all of the event participants.

Skills needed to qualify for this position are: good oral communications, patience in dealing with people, ability to work independently or as part of a team, enjoy helping children learn, and ability to accept direction and supervision.

Expert knowledge of engineering concepts is not required, as training will be provided in the form of written instructions in advance of the program, an opportunity to participate in a preview session on Saturday, February 15, 2020, and an orientation on the morning of the program.
