Tell us about yourself...

Shelter Nova Scotia is here - without judgement - to help.
We operate with a social justice ideology. We are non-political and non-religious. We follow strategies of harm reduction and housing first.

While in our facilities volunteers who are selected will be asked to respect our organizational practices and refrain from discussing or imposing beliefs about;
  • religion
  • politics
  • abstinence
  • addictions recovery

We are seeking task driven volunteers with excellent boundaries to be responsible for sorting donations, meal preparation, Maintaining kitchen standards, serving and day to day shelter tasks.

Due to the sensitive nature of this work, all volunteer applicants are thoroughly screened and interviewed. References are checked and upon a successful interview we request a Criminal record Check and vulnerable sector check be completed before commencement of volunteer shifts.
