Monday, January 14, 12:30pm to 3:30pm @ the Berkshire Athenaeum at the Pittsfield Public Library, 1 Wendell Ave, Pittsfield, MA 01201

This training will be facilitated by Caroline Mazel-Carlton and Marty Hadge.

About the training: An estimated 8 million Americans will hear voices at some point during their adult lives (rates are higher in children).  Most of them are trauma survivors. However, few trauma trainings offer concrete, culturally competent strategies for supporting people to navigate the voice-hearing experience. This workshop will provide demonstrations of Voice Mapping, Voice Dialogue and other techniques that acknowledge the context of voices and can create a greater sense of empowerment for voice hearers.

This training is free, but requires registration. Space is limited.

This training has been made possible through the Hearing Voices Research & Development Fund of the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Healthcare in collaboration with the Western Mass RLC.

About Caroline Mazel-Carlton and Marty Hadge: Caroline (Director of Training, Western Mass RLC) & Marty (Lead Trainer and Community Bridger, Western Mass RLC) are internationally recognized trainers on the topics of hearing voices,  alternatives to suicide, trauma, and more. Marty offered a keynote at the World Hearing Voices Congress in 2017 in Boston, and Caroline keynoted the 2018 Congress in the Netherlands in September this year. Together, they speak from first-hand experience of hearing voices and many years between them of supporting other voice hearers and helping providers to build understanding and learn more effective approaches than what is commonly offered in clinical settings.
