The City of Forest Grove is excited to announce our upcoming Vision Labs and invite community members to participate! These Vision Labs will support the development of our Forest Grove Forward Community Vision to guide how our city will look, feel, and operate over the next 15 years and beyond.
These interactive sessions are designed to refine the thousands of ideas we've gathered from community members through our outreach in summer/fall 2024 and shape them into actionable goals for our community’s future with the assistance of interested community members and subject matter experts from our local and regional partner organizations.
Please plan to attend both Vision Lab sessions to dive deeper into shaping the future of our community—each session builds on the last, so your voice matters every step of the way! Each Vision Lab will focus on a key focus area from the community outreach:
Economy; Includes topics such as, supporting local businesses, downtown revitalization, commercial and industrial development; beautification
Meeting 1: Tuesday, April 8 12:00 – 1:30 pm
Meeting 2: Tuesday, April 22 12:00 – 1:30 pm
Community Growth: Includes topics such as, housing design and growth, school facilities and education quality, public safety, and City services to meet needs of growing population
Meeting 1: Thursday, April 10 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Meeting 2: Monday, April 28 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Healthy and Active Community: Includes topics such as, parks, trails, open spaces, recreation opportunities
Meeting 1: Thursday, April 10 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Meeting 2: Thursday, April 24 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Sustainable Infrastructure: Includes topics such as: roads, mobility around town, traffic safety, signage; utilities, city facilities
Meeting 1: Thursday, April 10 1:30 – 3:00 pm
Meeting 2: Monday, April 28 1:30 – 3:00 pm
Community Connection: Includes topics such as: community events; communications; volunteering; gathering spaces
Meeting 1: Tuesday, April 8 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Meeting 2: Tuesday, April 22 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Each Vision Lab will have two sessions. Participation at both sessions is required.
During these sessions, we will:
- Review the results of our community outreach
- Define what success looks like for this goal area
- Refine community ideas into actionable steps
- Identify priorities and potential community partners
