Who should apply?

The Crested Butte Change-Maker Apprenticeship invites artists, community leaders, innovators, activists, radical parents, and all advocates for Mother Earth to join this inspiring cohort. Modeled after one of America’s longest running folk-festivals, we gather around “Vinotok” to learn how communities come together in times of radical division and eco-threat, weaving together art, myth, ancestral tradition and story to locate power and unity.
A cohort of up to 15 applicants will be selected, attending 4-6 online workshops before visiting Colorado’s Western Slope to be immersed in Vinotok’s week of festivities. The immersion includes attendance at all events, the Community Feast and daily fire-circles, to learn from this community's history of protecting wild spaces from industry, through art. If you have been looking for a way to lead change in your own community, if you are a seasoned organizer or activist looking for a community of practice to help you craft radically unifying solutions, or if you are an artist with a passion for the planet looking for a way to marry those two desires- join us. This cohort is for you.
If you are tired, overwhelmed or disillusioned with change-work and deeply needing a community of support, this cohort is also for you! Our mission is to inspire leaders around the globe to unlearn, remember and rewild their community responses to eco-system and social system crisis through cultural animation. This vitalizing process is studied, modeled and experienced in this immersion cohort.
As part of our values, it is imperative that we are accessible to all change makers who feel called to this space. This is why we are offering varying levels of enrollment for the full Cohort event. Please let us know if you need assistance to attend.
If you are able to do so, we invite you to enroll at the Sponsorship Cohort Pass rate, allowing you to gift part of another cohort member's attendance. This rate enables us to provide scholarships to underpaid change workers and those who need additional resources for this pass.
Once the cohort is formed, the program will consist of monthly online workshops (2 hours) to study each core practice of this year's case-study and apply those concepts to your own community, in your own context. The program culminates to a week-long, in-person immersion in Crested Butte Colorado September 15-22, 2024. Accommodations and all live workshops will be included in tuition costs. Please apply if you feel called to join us!
