Why Do This Survey?

Why You?
We are inviting you to participate in this strictly voluntary survey because you are a college student, possibly connected with a student organization that may have some involvement in some political issues.  ANY student, 18 years or older, regardless of their political views--or lack of any--is strongly encouraged to fill out this questionnaire.
Pros, without Cons.
There are no risks  or costs to you, aside from the 10 minutes or less it will take you to go through the survey. There are no specific benefits, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your voice is being heard: your experiences, combined with those of others, will provide new data that can help to improve viewpoint diversity on campuses. So even though you won't receive an individual reward, you will be helping--as a good citizen--to improve the campus climate for wide-ranging discussions, and strengthen the protections of students who may choose to speak out in future.
Strict Complete Confidentiality.
Your survey responses are entirely confidential (anonymous,by the design of the survey software, which does not capture any identifying information from any participant). Don't worry--this is NOT Facebook.
