Victorian Heritage Database (VHD)

The Victorian Heritage Database(VHD) provides general public access to information about places and objects included in the Victorian Heritage Register (VHR), including historic shipwrecks, and archaeological sites and artefacts in the Heritage Inventory (HI). The VHD also provides information about places affected by local council Heritage Overlays (HO) [note: where this information is available], as well as the ability to search across data sets of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) and the Victorian War Heritage Inventory.

It is proposed that VHD be ‘revitalised’ to optimise its content and use, and update its presentation.

Acronyms used frequently in this survey include:
VHD - Victorian Heritage Database
VHR - Victorian Heritage Register
HI - Heritage Inventory
LGA - Local Government Authority
HO - Heritage Overlay
