This expression of interest survey form contains information from our study web page [website address here] to remind you about this clinical trial, questions about you and your dog, and what is involved if your dog is eligible to take part in this study.
As you will have read on our study website, the the purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effect of daily feeding of an herbal supplement on the faecal microbiome composition of dogs on either a dry commercial dog food or raw diet using a randomised clinical trial design.
The aims of this study are to evaluate how the addition of the herbal supplement, Verm-X®affects the faecal microbiome as well as to compare the faecal microbiome in raw and dry fed dogs.
To register your interest in taking part in this study, you will need to answer some questions about your dog, including breed, age, body weight, sex and type of diet that you are feeding. You may enter information for only one dog so please choose the dog that is on the most consistent diet.
The study requires that you be able to collect, package and send faecal samples from your dog to the laboratory for testing. You will be provided with gloves, faecal collection equipment and instructions on how to collect and handle the samples. If you are concerned about handling your dog's faeces for collection and packaging, you do not have to agree to participate in this study.
We will also be asking for your contact information. You will need to consent to our use of the personal information that you provide so that we can contact you about participating in this study. All information provided will be kept confidential, only used to complete this study and not for marketing purposes. Once the study is completed, you will receive a report about your dog's microbiome results and all identifying personal information will be deleted.
