Occupational Analysis of the Vehicle Safety Systems Technician Profession

Dear Licensee,

Thank you for participating in this study of the new Vehicle Safety Systems Technician profession in California, a project of the Bureau of Automotive Repair (Bureau).

The Bureau is conducting an occupational analysis to identify the important tasks performed by vehicle safety systems technicians in their current work and the knowledge required to perform those tasks effectively. Results of the occupational analysis will be used to ensure that the examination required for licensure as a vehicle safety systems technician reflect your work. Your participation in this occupational analysis is essential. The vehicle safety systems technician profession is a new license classification. We realize you may not currently perform all of these tasks.

Please take the time to complete the survey as it relates to your work. Your responses will be kept confidential and will not be tied to your license or any other personal information. Individual responses will be combined with the responses of other vehicle safety systems technicians and only group data will be analyzed.

For your convenience, you do not have to complete the survey in a single session. Before you exit, complete the page that you are on. You can resume where you stopped as long as you reopen the survey from the same computer and use the same web browser. The web link is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To begin the survey, please click Next. Any question marked with an asterisk must be answered before you can progress through the questionnaire. Please submit the completed survey by March 6, 2023.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Shana Larrucea at Shana.larrucea@dca.ca.gov.

The Bureau welcomes your feedback and appreciates your time!
