15th ANNUAL TELUS PRESENTS THE VANCOUVER SANTA CLAUS PARADE

Mark your calendar! The first Sunday in December is the official date of the TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade. Santa’s early visit to Vancouver on Sunday, December 2, 2018 is the perfect kick off to the holiday season!

Before completing the Application, please read the 2018 Parade Rules and Regulations as they have been updated.

If your organization would like to be part of the 2018 TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade, please apply by completing this Participant Application Form and submitting payment no later than 12:00 noon on  September 14, 2018.
 
Participants are asked to remember that the purpose of the parade is to provide enjoyment and fun for members of our community. This purpose should be the goal when planning and designing entries. Think Fun, Festive and WOW factor. The Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Society reserves the right to approve or deny entry to the parade.

Every year we receive numerous participant applications and unfortunately have to turn down some applications that do not meet the criteria/requirements. With this in mind, we would like to remind you that selections will be made based on your written application and any visuals that you can provide.

We highly encourage that your entry features a festive theme with motion and amplified music. Remember this event is the kick-off to the holiday season and the TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade is dedicated to bringing the community together with festive entertainment in the lead up to the arrival of Jolly Old Saint Nick. Please read the Parade Rules and Regulations for a full list of all Entry Requirements.

In order to increase the entertainment value of your entry, and likelihood of being accepted, we require that all groups include the following elements - show us your WOW factor:

Theme: What is your overall theme? How are you going to incorporate the overall Parade theme of the Holiday Spirit?
 
Costumes: The bigger and brighter the better!

Decor: How are you going to show and display your entry? What is your WOW factor? How are you decorating your vehicle(s)?

Music/Choreography: What type of music will you have? Is everyone in the entry going to learn a basic dance routine?

  • All groups wishing to have handouts or giveaways as part of their entry must send a sample or photo of the item to the Parade Society for approval.
  • If your group wishes to hand out chocolate there must be no brand markings, please call us to discuss in more detail. Purdys Chocolatier is our official parade chocolate and will providing a parade participant deal if you wish to purchase Purdys chocolate to giveaway.
  • As a green initiative, paper handouts are not permitted.

* 16. TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Waiver:
It is the sole responsibility of the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Society to ensure that the festive and family friendly nature and quality of the Parade. In this regard the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Society reserves the right to approve and/or deny entrants to the parade.

On behalf of the above mentioned organization, I hereby waive and refuse any and all rights and claims for damages against Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Society and/or sponsors, its agents, contractors and sub-contractors, officers, staff members or Board Members. I agree to abide by all the Parade Rules and Regulations as outlined by the Society and understand that this information is being obtained for the purpose of registration. The applicant hereby consents to public access being provided to this information upon request.

I also acknowledge that I will need to provide a Certificate of Insurance, as outlined in the Parade Rules and Regulations.

Selection Process:
The Vancouver Santa Claus Parade Society will review all applications after the September 14th, 2018 deadline. Parade confirmations will be sent out by the first week of October. Further details, including parade position, will be forwarded the week before the parade. Once you click submit, a download icon will show at the bottom of the next page.
