GiGi's Playhouse Sacramento
Program Survey

The mission of GiGi’s Playhouse is to change how the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all. Our 49+ brick and mortar location across North America and Mexico provide FREE resources, specialized teaching and support to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. The locations help foster an environment of positive energy, high expectations, consistent participation and achievement across a broad variety of one on one, group and career training programs for individuals with Down syndrome and the community.

All of the GiGi’s Playhouse programs are FREE to families and each of them is designed to work on specific skill development in education, therapeutic and or career training areas including speech and language, social development, and fine and gross motor skills. GiGi’s Playhouse makes a lifetime commitment to families. We are with you every step of the way.

The purpose of this survey is to help us understand our Sacramento area community and the best programs to provide. We are also looking for volunteers to help us expand our offerings, fundraising, and board members.

Destination Discovery: Supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. Recommended for All Ages.

GiGi's Amina Grace 1:1 Speech & Language:  Provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills in a 1-on-1 setting. Effective enunciation, clarity of speech, word order and message meaning are paramount to fostering greater self-confidence, comprehension, problem-solving, school readiness, social skills, independence, and overall quality of life. Recommended for All Ages.

LMNOP: is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. Recommended for ages newborn to 36 months.

GiGiFIT You & I: Introduces the concepts of GiGiFIT Adult and Infant to parents and caregivers of infants with Down syndrome. Recommended for caregiver and newborn.

Math Tutoring: Each individual learns to develop math skills at a different pace. Learn a foundation of basic number understanding, shapes, patterns, addition to division, telling time and more. And with this increased knowledge comes higher self-esteem and confidence. Recommended for ages 3+ years old.

Literacy Tutoring: Each individual learns to develop literacy skills at a different pace. Learn a foundation sight word recognition, vocabulary phonemic awareness all through our individualized learning techniques. And with this increased knowledge comes higher self-esteem and confidence. Recommended for ages 3+ years old.

GiGiFIT Infant: Introduces the concepts of foundational movements, mobility activities, visual-vestibular activities, and reflex integration. Recommended for ages newborn - pre-walking.

Crawlers and Walkers: Focuses on the development of gross and fine motor skills through activities that are hands-on and fun! Social skills and language development will also be addressed, with focus on learning new words, following directions and interacting with peers. Recommended for ages 1 - 5 years old.

Leaps & Bounds: This program promotes social, emotional, large and small muscle group development. Children will participate in fun and engaging activities that require movement and interaction with their environment.  Recommended for ages 3-5 years old.

GiGiFIT Toddler: Takes concepts of foundational movements, mobility activities, visual-vestibular activities, and reflex integration to the next level in a fast-paced, super fun and socially interactive atmosphere for young children who have recently mastered the ability to walk on their own. Recommended for ages walking - 5 years old.

Playhouse Pals: Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also supports gross motor skills through active games, as well as fine motor skills & self-help skills. Recommended for ages 5 - 8 years old.

GiGiFIT Kids: Combines key movements from GiGiFIT Teen and advanced progressions of activities from GiGiFIT Toddler to help improve strength, balance, coordination, peer interaction and to build a lifelong love of physical activity. Recommended for ages 5 - 12 years old.

Kids Club: Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program will also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self-help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities. Recommended for ages 8 - 12 years old.

Teen Tastic: Focuses on building social skills with friends without Down syndrome by participating in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Skill development includes understanding compromise, turn-taking and problem-solving abilities. Recommended for ages 13 - 17 years old.

GiGiFIT Teen: Introduces the key movements (MMPT Principles) of foundational exercises, hip strengthening exercises, and vestibular/balance exercises. Recommended for ages 13 - 17 years old.

Fantastic Friends: A fun and purposeful social gathering for adults with Down syndrome, their peers and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. Recommended for adults 18+.

GiGiFIT Adult: Introduces the key movements of foundational exercises, hip strengthening exercises, and vestibular/balance exercises, making them successful to implement and practice at any stage of life! Recommended for adults 18+.
