Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Survey |
Water Quality Association
The Water Quality Association (WQA) is gathering accounts from the water treatment and filtration community on how companies are adapting their practices and services through a lens of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). We encourage all companies in the industry, WQA member or not, to take part in this survey request.

“Marginalized groups” refer to any group treated differently because of, for example, their place of origin or residence, ethnicity, race, faith, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
“Diversity” can be defined as the sum of the ways that people are both alike and different. When we recognize, value, and embrace diversity, we are accepting, valuing, and embracing the uniqueness of each individual.
"Equity” takes differences into account to ensure a fair process and, ultimately, a fair outcome. Equity recognizes that some groups were (and are) disadvantaged in accessing educational and employment opportunities and are, therefore, underrepresented or marginalized in many organizations and institutions. Equity, therefore, means increasing diversity by improving conditions of disadvantaged groups.
“Inclusion” means an environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and with respect; they are valued for their unique skills, experiences, and perspectives; they have equal access to resources and opportunities and can contribute fully to the organization’s success.
