Thank you for your interest in serving on the Appraisal Review Board!

The ARB is a citizen board that sits in panels of three or four to hear property owner protests that cannot be resolved informally with McLennan Central Appraisal District.  Service on the ARB will begin January 1.

ARB service is generally a full-time commitment during the summer months and requires members to be available to serve all day every weekday and several Saturdays from May through July and several weekdays in September and December. ARB members are not always scheduled every day, but must be available to serve if needed. ARB members are not considered employees of McLennan Central Appraisal District but are reimbursed for their time as contract labor at the rate of $175 a day.
Candidates for the ARB must be current residents of McLennan County, having resided in the county for at least two years; must be up to date on property tax payments for property in Texas or show the tax is being paid under an installment agreement.

Your answers will help determine if you are eligible to be considered for appointment.  This will be held by the Taxpayer Liaison Officer until November or December and then provided to the Local Administrative District Judge to make appointment.

If you are appointed, you will be notified by the end of December.  You may be contacted about your answers prior to them being submitted to the judge.  If appointed you will be expected to attend all training that is required by the state in order to serve on the board.  Training sessions will begin after the first of the year and will typically be completed in April, prior to the start of ARB hearings.
