Purpose
Metro and the community-based grant review panel want more people to know about this funding opportunity. We specifically would like to increase the number of applications we receive from Black, Indigenous and POC communities in Eastern Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties, areas not well-represented in past application pools.
This work is primarily self-directed and is best for someone with good ideas on how to connect with people and feels comfortable carrying that out.
What you would be doing in August and September
- Help people learn about the grant program
- Answer basic questions about the grant opportunity
- Help people understand that Metro staff wants to help
- Connect people to Metro's grant manager
- Help Metro staff understand communities’ needs and wants related to the grants, so that Metro can make the program more accessible to people
Activities involved
- Get to know more about the Community Placemaking grant program by reading materials and a virtual meeting with Metro's grant manager
- August and September outreach and engagement
- Periodic virtual meetings with the other community engagers
- Share what you learned with Metro
Compensation
