About the RP Group Board of Directors

The RP Group has a rich history serving the State of California and the California Community College system. The organization strives to build a community college culture that views planning, evidence-based decision-making, and institutional effectiveness as integral, collaborative strategies that work together to promote student success, increase equitable outcomes, improve college operations, and inform policymakers. Four core values guide our work and culture: Quality, Authenticity, Equity, and Collaboration.

Board members are expected to provide governance oversight for the organization with an understanding of the bylaws, as well as the overall role, function and strategic direction of the organization, to ensure that the RP Group stays true to its mission and is of service to its members and the CCC field at large. Board members also have fiduciary responsibility for the organization, which means they have been entrusted by the public to ensure that the finances of the organization are used appropriately and judiciously.

At-Large board terms are typically two years long. In some cases, when a seat is vacated due to movement onto the Executive Committee or early board departure, seats may be filled that are less than two years long. There is no limit on the number of times one may run to serve on the board.

All candidate nominations are submitted to the membership for a vote.  (Each member college/district receives one vote.) The results of the election are expected to be announced in June.
