1. Health Care: Feeding Our Habits?

Will the proposed national health care make our eating habits worse because we'll hope that drugs and health care can take care of our health problems? Or not?

* 1. John Mackey, Whole Foods CEO, recently wrote an op-ed in the New York Times coming out against the proposed health care "entitlement." His words:

"The last thing our country needs is a massive new health-care entitlement that will create hundreds of billions of dollars of new unfunded deficits and move us closer to a complete government takeover of our health-care system."

Do you agree with him? Is national health care NOT a good solution for the nation's health problems?

* 2. Writer Michael Pollan has suggested that even with health care, if Americans don't change their diets, "we'll go broke".

"Food," he says "is the elephant in the room."

Do you agree that if Americans don't change their diets, that health care really won't matter because the gov't could go broke paying for everyone's drugs, doctor and hospital visits?
