Reimagine Schools: Where Passion Meets Purpose

OVERVIEW 

Rocky Mountain Chapter for the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Southwest Regional Conference Planning Committee is now accepting education session proposals for the 2018 Southwest Regional Conference, a two-day event produced by A4LE in collaboration with its conference planning volunteers.
 
ABOUT THE SOUTHWEST REGIONAL CONFERENCE
DATES:                   April 24- April 26, 2018
LOCATION:            Various locations between Denver and Boulder, Colorado
ANTICIPATED ATTENDANCE:
150 plus professionals from school districts large and small, architects, engineers, interior designers, contractors and anyone serving students and educational facilities

SOUTHWEST REGION:
Arizona, Northern California/Nevada, Las Vegas, New Mexico, Rocky Mountain, Southern California
 
CONFERENCE THEME:
Reimagine Schools: Where Passion Meets Purpose

The conference is organized to present a balance between practical information and forward–thinking concepts. The organizers are interested in seminars with an emphasis on experience gained from actual projects using tried tools, technologies and practices that participants can take with them, use and adapt to their particular situation. Each session should include “lessons learned” that were put into practice to enhance projects and effect change.

TIMELINE FOR PROPOSALS 

CALL FOR PROPOSALS RELEASED:      October 11, 2017
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS IS 5:00 PM MST:     November 10, 2017
EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS OF ACCEPTED PROPOSALS:  January 8, 2018      
SPEAKER AGREEMENTS SIGNED:            January 19, 2018                      
ELECTRONIC PRESENTATION DUE FROM ACCEPTED PROPOSALS: March 23, 2018

SESSION FORMATS 
All session submissions must be for 60 minutes, allowing time for questions.  Acceptable presentation modalities include panel discussions, roundtables, project profile/case studies, interactive lectures, or group activity. The presentation format shall be specified in the submittal. Preference will be given to those sessions with unique and interactive formats. 

Proposed panel sessions with multiple presenters must include a designated moderator and no more than three additional presenters. Panel sessions must confirm the participation of all proposed speakers prior to submittal. Panel sessions must include at least one A4LE Member and at least one school district employee, parent or student.

The Program Committee encourages collaboration for a variety of perspectives from organizations and firms. We may suggest changes to a proposal to enhance the overall conference experience. One primary point of contact will be notified of any proposed changes.
