Collections and Community Resilience Project Questionnaire (Round 2)
About the Project
The Collections and Community Resilience Project (CCRP) is a Victorian state-wide initiative that provides regional communities with the opportunity to digitally preserve their collections and receive onsite training in collections care, preventative conservation and risk mitigation in the face of natural disaster events.
Onsite Time Frame
Participating organisations will receive 6 days of onsite training, broken up into two separate 3-day sessions, approximately three weeks apart. The breakdown of the 6 days consists of;
Session 1 Day 1: Introduction to the CCRP, basics of collections handling and digitisation training
Day 2: Practical hands-on digitisation of collection
Day 3: Practical hands-on digitisation of collection
Session 2 Day 1: Assessment of progress and refresher on digitisation and handling basics, as well as hands-on digitisation
Day 2: Half-day focus area workshop and further digitisation (if time allows)
Day 3: Community digitisation day OR further hands-on digitisation
Participating Organisation Commitment
To take part in this project, we need a commitment of 3-5 members of your organisation (staff, volunteers, committees or boards of management) for each of the 6 days of training. This ensures your organisation receives the full benefits of this training and enough sets of hands to smoothly move through the workload.
Part of your commitment in taking part in this project will be assisting our staff in preparations prior to our attendance. This includes:
- reviewing your collection and determining which items you would like to have digitised (no more than 100) - preparing and delivering a list of your selected items to us via email - ensuring you have a minimum 3-5 individuals to assist us each day with collecting your items from their current locations, preparing them for digitisation, performing basic cleaning, some cataloguing and returning them to their location
If you are selected to take part in this project, we will provide you with more detailed information about these tasks and commitments prior to our set training days.
