Social safety net programmes for adolescents

Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) and Nutrition International (NI), in partnership with the Global Adolescent Nutrition Network (GANN), are conducting a global landscape review of social safety net programmes (SSNPs) for non-pregnant adolescents. We are especially interested, but not limited to, programmes aimed at improving adolescent nutrition. We are using this survey, as well as key informant interviews, and literature searches to map programming examples and evidence. This information will be presented in a report and shared publicly, in order to highlight coverage, programme examples, evidence, opportunities, and gaps.

Social safety net programmes are designed to improve the lives of vulnerable families and individuals through the provision of in-kind transfers like food assistance, conditional and unconditional cash transfers, vouchers, fee waivers, and school feeding programmes. This survey covers social safety net programmes (SSNPs) that include adolescents aged 10–19 years, excluding school feeding programmes, and only in low- or middle-income countries (LMICs).

We would be very grateful if you could share with us your knowledge of SSNPs in any LMIC countries. If you would like to be named in the acknowledgments of the report, please provide your details at the end of the survey (optional).
1.Are you aware of any social safety net programmes in an LMIC country that include non-pregnant adolescent girls or boys (do not include school feeding programmes)?(Required.)
