Fall 2019 Virtual Talkline Training Volunteer Application

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with All-Options! At All-Options, people can find open-hearted support for all their experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. These issues are complex and every person’s reality is different, but we know one thing for certain: Everyone deserves to have all options!

All-Options is excited to announce our 2nd virtual Talkline Training, which will take place this Fall!  As we did earlier this year, All-Options is opening up our Talkline training to people around the country. Talkline Advocates provide compassionate and unbiased peer counseling support to callers on our National Talkline. All volunteer advocates must complete a 40-hour training prior to providing support on the Talkline. The training will be a combination of virtual meetings with the entire cohort and self-directed homework and study.

Our Fall virtual training will take place over 6 weeks (September 24th-October 31, 2019), with virtual meetings happening twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) for 90 minutes each. Following the completion of their training, volunteer advocates must be able to volunteer on the Talkline 12-15 hours a month.

All-Options strives to build a volunteer team that reflects the diversity of our callers and communities. As such, we are specifically prioritizing prospective volunteers who are people of color, trans and gender expansive, bilingual English/Spanish language speakers, people with disabilities, people with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption experiences, people who have called the Talkline for support, and folks who live on the West Coast.

The deadline to apply for this cohort is 11:59pm ET on Friday, August 23rd. If you have more questions, please check out our FAQ here!
