The U.S. Forest Service has proposed selling 7 tracts totaling approximately 1,246 acres of national forest land in Rabun County.  The Forest Service does not have to sell any tracts of public land.  The Forest Service will not sell any tracts in Rabun County without a resolution of support from the Board of Commissioners.    The commissioners are interested in purchasing approximately 800 acres of national forest land in the Boggs Mountain area. How do you feel about the proposed sale of our national forest lands?  How do you feel about the potential purchase of the majority of this land by the county?  Visit chattoogariver.org to view maps and learn more about this issue.
