Introduction

Aquaculture has an important role to play in the development of a nutritional food production system to meet the demands of the ever-growing global populations and is one of the fastest-growing sectors globally. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all aspects of aquaculture, from farm to fork, is sustainable. These two projects Increasing Echinoderm Value Chains (InEVal) and HYDROfish are looking at the long term planning needed to grow the aquaculture industry, diverse value chain to echinoderm biomass and plan for alternative feed sources such as Fish Protein Hydrolysate (FPH) feed for fish in aquaculture systems.
