AFT 1493 Bargaining Prioritization Survey Oct. 2025

Our current contract expired June 30, 2025, and after 20 negotiations, we have just two scheduled sessions remaining before we either reach Tentative Agreement, OR we go to mediation and/or impasse. Impasse is a multi-step process involving the Public Employee Relations Board (PERB), and if we go through the impasse process and don't reach agreement, we can strike after a membership vote.

We need your input on the issues we're still negotiating. What issue(s) are most important to you, and what are you willing to do to win fair contract terms on those issues?

The survey is open through Friday, 10/17/2025. For more details on the specific issues below, check out our negotiations updates.

Thank you for your input! ~AFT 1493 Negotiations Team and Executive Committee
