Grammar Women—Grammar Girls Mentoring Program

Thank you for taking on the role of mentor in our Grammar Women—Grammar Girls Mentoring Program this year. This is the fourth year the program has been run and we would appreciate your feedback so we can develop and improve the program in future iterations.
When assigning your group, consideration was given to the following:
  • what you have in common with your mentees such as the senior subjects your mentees currently study, post-secondary plans, passions and interests
  • the things your mentees identified they wanted to learn about/develop/improve
  • the qualities the mentee identified they would like their mentor to have and the compatibility of the group.
1.Was it helpful to receive your mentees' student profiles before the first session, and are there any additional questions that should be asked when students complete an expression of interest to be part of the program?
2.Have you enjoyed the structure of the sessions—what could we modify for the next intake?
3.Are there any additional resources that may be helpful for these sessions?
4.Were you able to cover all the content in four sessions or is this commitment too onerous?
5.Did you find the 'icebreaker activities' helpful in session 1 and 2 or did we spend too much time talking through these ideas? Would you recommend we continue to use them in each session, or would you suggest some changes?
6.Did your mentees identify some future goals and important events remaining in their Semester and beyond? Did you feel comfortable in supporting them with these? Do you think your mentees made some progress with their goals during the program?
7.Did you decide to extend your relationship with your mentees after the program’s conclusion?
8.What did you enjoy most or enjoy least about the mentoring program?
9.What have you learned about yourself during this program?
10.One of the questions we asked for in your expression of interest was about what you wish you had been told when you were a student at BGGS. Now that you have connected with a current student, what do you think they need to be told that will enhance their time at Girls Grammar?
11.Is there anything the School should consider to improve next year’s mentoring program?
12.Would you consider being a mentor again in 2025?
13.If so, could you provide your name and contact details:
14.Overall, how would you rate the Grammar Women – Grammar Girls mentoring program?
