Followup to the Transitioning Forward To School Plan Shared 7/16/20

Thank you for choosing Saint Ambrose School for your family.  We value your partnership and commitment to excellence. We are reaching out to all of our 2020-2021 families to ask for your feedback on the Transitioning Forward to school plan shared in the parent meeting on 7/16/20 (this virtual meeting was recorded and also shared via email for reference).

The first step and scope of our return to school was shared and that there will be questions and further clarity needed.  We look forward to continuing to answer your questions and providing more details in the weeks to come.

In this ever-changing time, we will continue to watch for direction for fall from Governor Mike DeWine, Dr. Amy Acton, the Ohio Department of Education and Early Childhood Education offices, the Diocese of Cleveland and our local health department with whom we work closely.

We demonstrated our ability to pivot and provide excellence in education for the spring 4th quarter by providing high quality and differentiated learning via remote learning under current academic restrictions. We are so proud of our faculty, staff, and families!

We recognize that the start of the 2020-2021 school year will look different and we appreciate your feedback. Please be assured of our commitment to best practices and the safety of each of our students, families, faculty, and staff.

We will continue to communicate by email, our Eblasts, our website www.SaintAmbroseSchool.us as well as social media platforms this summer.

Thank you for spending 5 minutes to answer the questions below and provide us your valuable feedback.  We are aware that some of these questions are sensitive and that this has been a challenging season.  We sincerely value your honest responses so we can continue to carefully plan for our fall return to school.

We move forward together in our faith in Jesus Christ who is Everything for us and use our innovative mindset. We model for our children: hope, resilience and gratitude for the blessings we enjoy as the family of God.

Question Title

* 7. As part of our safe return to the school building full time this fall, our plan strongly considers that all Saint Ambrose School K-8 students, faculty, and staff wear masks when entering the building, in hallways, and in classrooms. Masks will not be required for lunch, recess, or any outdoor time where extended physical distancing beyond 3-6 ft is possible.

MASK POLICY
At this time, we will not be implementing a mask "uniform" only that adequate cloth face coverings be worn and support our school culture. Gaiters are an acceptable alternative. Coverings can be any color, design or style that provides cloth protection of nose and mouth. Solid colors are preferable.

**Examples of unacceptable images: skeletons, demonic images, guns or disrespectful words, violent video games, graphics or slogans. The Administration holds the final decision about the appropriateness of design. We hope, with your cooperation, to keep mask options as flexible as possible for families. Regulations will be listed in the Saint Ambrose School Handbook.

What do you think about this policy?
