KAR 28-24-1 Clarification 06/25/2018
The Board has been receiving inquiries concerning the proposed update to the KDHE regulations for infection control for KAR 28-24-1. Please be informed that the use of the word “licensee” or “apprentice” in the infection control regulations eliminates the requirement that an unlicensed individual must follow the regulations. Proposed language for “practitioner” includes licensees, apprentices and unlicensed persons that provide any cosmetology services. The updated language provides the Board the ability to discipline an unlicensed person for any infection control violations in addition to the requirement that the person be licensed for the services provided as required by KSA 65-1902.
