Girls in Dance Festival 2025: Volunteers application Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at AWA DANCE's Girls in Dance Festival!The Girls in Dance Festival is a full day event for teenage girls aged 13-21 who enjoy dancing. Organised by the charity AWA DANCE, led and hosted entirely by women, the Girls in Dance Festival offers girls a safe space to connect, grow and be yourselves, using dance as a transformative tool in that journey.As a volunteer you will join us for an exciting and fun-packed day. Volunteering at the Festival will be an opportunity to develop your skills, connect with other volunteers, and help us empower girls. Event detailsMonday 28 July 2025, 10am-4:30pmMidlands Arts Centre, Birmingham (maps)What do volunteers do? Volunteers will help us on the day with a variety of tasks: from assisting with registration at the start of the day, to guide our participants between activities, and overall helping us make sure that the day flows smoothly and safely. Whatever task you will be doing, the AWA DANCE team will brief you before the event and will support you throughout the day.If you are available the day before the Festival, we also need some help setting up the space on Sunday 27 July, 5-7pm.What will you gain from this experience? Identify as a woman Be 28+ years old Be passionate about dance and/or girl's empowerment Be available to volunteer the whole day on Monday 28 July 2025, 9am-5:30pm, at Midlands Arts Centre (Birmingham) Be legally entitled to stay in the UK Be based in the West Midlands (and be able to cover your travel to the MAC in Birmingham, there is parking if needed) Hold an enhanced DBS check (if you don't, we will get one for you) Attend our compulsory 2-hours online Safeguarding Training, free of charge. You can choose among these dates: Wednesday 4th June 9:30-11:30am, or Monday 9th June 3-5pm.
