VIAC Built Heritage Cultural Visitor Center – Community & Diaspora Survey
The VIAC Built Heritage Cultural Visitor Center will be a community engagement space that features the stories of Christiansted and other historic towns of the Virgin Islands. It will offer programs that engage Virgin Islands residents, past and present, of all ages, including historians, artists, educators, architects, students, and community activists. The Visitor Center will showcase local narratives and inspire a new generation of cultural producers, heritage specialists, architects, and town planners.
Located in downtown Christiansted, the Center will be an attraction for the Virgin Islands diaspora and tourists interested in authentic stories about the Virgin Islands of the United States. With its community-centered approach, VIAC will empower historically forgotten neighborhoods, foster inclusivity, and celebrate cultures of survival and resistance in St. Croix and across the Virgin Islands.
Your input will help us shape this space so that it reflects and serves the community, diaspora, and visitors alike.
