Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering to be part of Battle of the Sexes(BOTS), our high-impact event to empower area students to make healthy choices in all areas of life!

Not familiar with BOTS event? Here is what it is:
An all-day powerhouse event for Joplin HS, Webb City HS, and Carthage HS 11th grade students that addresses issues relevant to our teens and aims to empower and equip them with tools and knowledge to overcome them now and in the future. This year’s events will be held at Missouri Southern State University. During the event, students experience great workshops, powerful speakers, high-energy videos and music, good food, in-depth question and answer time, prizes, and the opportunity to experience the support their community has for them through volunteers like you!

What is expected of Volunteers?
Volunteers will need to be available from 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM on each day that they sign up for.
We will need 30 people per day (60 people on Friday, March 9th, due to Joplin's large student body size) to act as "Mentors" for assigned groups of 15-25 students, working with another mentor (2 per group) to lead students where they need to go, keep them safe and on track, connect and debrief some of the day with them, and have tons of fun!

As you will be working with youth, a brief interview and background check are necessary. There is also a short required training video where we will familiarize you with the mission of LifeChoices and get you comfortable with the event flow.

Thank you in advance for your interest in our area teens and being willing to commit to serving them with your time and presence. We absolutely cannot put on this event without you!
