According to Jeff Comfort of Oregon State Univeristy, the successful donor lunch/meeting includes the 4 Ss: story, story, story, shut up.
Directions (What do you do with these ingredients – How are they implemented?)
When meeting with a donor, have 3 short stories from different departments of your nonprofit, such as a university might talk about an academic program, a sport, and a building.  When the donor replies with their own story connected to one of those 3, you know which direction to take your focus/ask
Results & Outcomes when this recipe/ingredient is successfully implemented/blended/served?
The donor gets engaged with that portion of your nonprofit and you can build on it
