Hi,
Carers and others have been telling us that appropriate and timely transport options have been a long-standing issue in country and regional areas. People often need to travel long distances to attend specialist or to other health related appointments, or to take part in social and community events, special shopping trips, or to keep in touch with families.
The Transport and Care Project has evolved from the Don Dunstan Foundation's “Thinkers in Residence –Social Capital Residencies – Allyson Hewitt” Roundtable discussion which was initially held on 26th Sept 2017 in Adelaide.
A group of interested Round Table participants from different organisations and sectors have come together to investigate options and work collaboratively to address some of the persistent issue around transport and care.
We are now investigating options to provide access to a fleet of suitable vehicles that people or organisations could access when needed.
Through your input in this survey, we would like to find out:
· what specific needs people may have around accessing and using transport,
· if community members and organisations were interested in accessing transport via a vehicle pool,
· investigate opportunities to share locally available resources,
· hear your thoughts, ideas, comments and suggestions.
Your feedback and thoughts are appreciated and will be invaluable to tackling transport issues for the local community.
