St. James’ is experiencing positive momentum and renewed energy! This seems to be a good time to look FORWARD to our short- and long-term plans for the future of our parish. This survey is an opportunity for you to help us engage in a thorough discovery process to define our spiritual purpose and priorities; to discern where God is calling us as a parish now and in the future.

This survey and our upcoming Visioning Day will help us answer questions like these:
  • Who are we today?
  • Where do we want to be (1 year, 2 years, 5 years)?
  • What are our guiding principles? 
  • What are our common goals?
  • Our Mission: Loving People. Serving People. is strong – how can we demonstrate that mission most effectively?
  • What are the main priorities that will be our areas of focus?

  • March 2026: Developed FORWARD St. James’ Visioning Team to collaborate with the Vestry in facilitating and overseeing the process.

  • May-June 2026: Revisiting our history in order to help us look forward. We are creating a visual display of our historical timeline with your contributions of photos and stories from moments we all want to remember. Bob Glass/Larry Profancik co-chairs.
  • May 30-June 15, 2026: Implement survey of people connected to our faith community, including current and former members and people whose lives have been touched by the ministries here, with a goal of revealing common interests and desires for the future.
  • June 20, 2026: FORWARD St. James’ Visioning Day
    • All parish meeting facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Jason Lewis, Canon for Congregational Vitality, with assistance from the Visioning Team, the Vestry, and the Marketing Communications Committee
    • We are planning an interactive and conversational morning where we begin to explore big and small ideas.
  • July 2026: Report out to parish of survey results and Visioning Session outcomes
  • Summer 2026: Follow Up Survey (building off insights gained from Visioning Session, focused on HOW we are going to achieve our goals)
