Expression of Interest – Clinical Scholar Role (RN or RPN)
The Clinical Scholar role aims to match experienced nurses with frontline nurses to support their nursing practice. Experienced nurses can gain mentorship experience as a Clinical Scholar by providing support to newly graduated nurses. Clinical Scholars are required to focus exclusively on mentoring newly graduated nurses in their transition into the nursing workforce.
CKHA is seeking interest from seasoned CKHA nurses that may be interested in participating as a Clinical Scholar. The commitment for experienced nurses is to work in a Clinical Scholar role on a limited or occasional basis or potentially up to full-time hours. When working as a Clinical Scholar the nurse does not have a patient assignment, allowing them to support the mentorship of newly graduated nurses.
Clinical Scholar Eligibility Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the General Class
5-10 years recent experience in frontline care in Med-Surg; Women & Children.
2-3 years of experience with preceptorship or experience as a mentor required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP, FHS preferred
