Fuel Crisis Data and Impact Collection – Community Services (WA)

4.Introduction

This form collects timely and consistent information from community service organisations across Western Australia about the impacts of the fuel crisis on service delivery, staff, and service users.

We know that community services, and the people you support every day, are already being impacted by the global fuel crisis. Your organisation’s frontline experience is essential to understanding what is happening across the State: the pressures on staff, the risks emerging for vulnerable communities, and the real‑time challenges of keeping essential services operating. The information you share will directly shape the advice we provide to State and Commonwealth Governments and strengthen our advocacy for practical, immediate solutions.

The survey is being conducted by the Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS), in collaboration with the Council of Aboriginal Services WA (CASWA), Community Employers WA (CEWA) and National Disability Services WA (NDSWA). Your information will be shared with all these organisations.

It is crucial that you only provide information about the impacts since the fuel crisis began, from 2 March 2026.

The information will help us to:
  • Identify emerging and escalating risks
  • Understand operational and financial pressures
  • Provide evidence‑based advice to government
  • Advocate for practical solutions to stabilise essential services and protect vulnerable communities

This survey is not the place to report urgent fuel supply issues. If your organisation or community is experiencing — or is at risk of — running out of fuel, you must contact the WA Fuel Security State Controller immediately using the dedicated reporting link here. This ensures real‑time issues reach the people responsible for coordinating rapid response and maintaining fuel supply to critical areas.

Information collected through this form will be aggregated and used to inform State and Commonwealth Governments, peak bodies, and other relevant stakeholders about the impacts of the fuel crisis on community services. The data will support advocacy, policy development and service planning decisions. Individual organisations, workers, and clients will not be identified in any reporting or briefings.
