Introduction and Background
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, a nonprofit agency dedicated to empowering women and eliminating racism, is accepting proposals from child care providers interested in providing quality drop-in child care for veteran’s while they attend scheduled medical appointments. Our goals with the project is to:
1. Link Illinois Veterans to quality child care while they attend scheduled medical appointments.
2. Remove the childcare barrier for veterans so they are able to attend medical appointments.
3. Assist child care providers in filling unused capacity and market their program to a wider audience.
The objective of this Request for Proposal is to locate child care partners who feel passionate about this initiative and are interested in supporting Veteran’s through Child Care Services.
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago offers a variety of support services for veterans. These services include income supports through our Child Care Assistance Program, child care referrals and resources for parents. We are committed to ensuring that veteran families receive all of the support necessary to achieve optimal health and wellness and create economic sustainability. We are now extending our services to assist Illinois Veterans, in finding and scheduling childcare through our provider network so that they can attend medical appointments.
