Training Summary:
This virtual 8 week training will offer 20 hours of live zoom workshops as well as 20 hours of independent study and partner practice. The training will kick off on Wednesday, October 7th with orientation and continue with six, 3 hour Saturday workshops- concluding on November 21st.
The training is led by staff with the Healing Harms department. Staff will support the volunteer team in strengthening and practicing the skills necessary to be a restorative justice facilitator for cases diverted from juvenile justice related systems (police departments & district attorneys), families, group homes, community members, community organizations and workplace environments at-large. Through this training, you will gain a deepened understanding of restorative justice philosophy and practical experience co-facilitating circles for our referral programs. Learn how to create a space for families and community to come together and collectively determine meaningful healing steps when harm or conflict occurs.

What to Expect:
This training will be held via Zoom and will require audio/video participation and independent work assigned each session. Participants will practice skills through discussion, hands-on exercises, case studies, role-plays, and feedback from experienced restorative justice facilitators.
At the conclusion of the training, participants' readiness will be accessed before being assigned to active cases. Volunteers co-facilitate alongside staff and support on various cases such as: assault, burglary, child custody issues, family reunification process, post incarceration re-entry support, family based conflict, neighbor disputes, racism and other oppression-based conflicts in the workplace, hate-crimes and community crisis intervention.

Deadline to apply is Thursday, October 1st. Applicants will be contacted and confirmed of their invitation to move forward based on capacity and will hear from Healing Harms staff no later than Monday, October 5th.
All sessions listed below represent the live zoom group training sessions and are required for training completion.
