1.Baltimore City is in dire need of a pathway for juveniles who enter the juvenile justice system to redirect themselves from recidivism. Juvenile delinquency has become a prevalent cause of crime in many neighborhoods in and around the State of Maryland. The Juvenile After-Care Inc. (JACI) has submitted a Letter of Intent to the Baltimore City Public School System to open and operate a Baltimore City Public School-Contract School that will allow us to focus on juveniles returning from juvenile justice involvement. The school will assist students with meeting Baltimore City Graduation requirements and obtaining a High School Diploma, allowing them to choose a college-bound or vocational program track and create positive change in their lives.
