About us:
Our Mission: The West Valley Fire Department is dedicated to the preservation and protection of life then property.
Our Vision: The West Valley Fire Department is a proactive, innovative and dynamic organization committed to high standards.
The assessed value of the 90 square mile West Valley Fire District is just under $2 billion and has a population of around 15,000 people.
West Valley Fire Department received 947 - 911 service calls in 2023, 72% of those calls are EMS related, 11% fire, 5% citizen assists, 10% false alarms or false calls for outdoor burns and 2% hazardous conditions (power problems, hazardous materials).
The Departments staffing consists of 4 Administrative positions (Chief, Deputy Chief, Finance Officer and Secretary), 4 full time Operational positions (Lieutenant and 3 Firefighters), 79 paid on call Members (67 fire operations and 12 support). Monday through Friday 6am-6pm a minimum of one crew is staffed in District, after 6pm on weeknights and all weekends staffing is on-call response from home to the station for emergencies. A Duty Chief position is staffed for response to major incidents 24/7/365, a Duty Officer on weekends and a weeknight dedicated responder Sun-Thur night.
