Caregiver Survey on Youth Alcohol and Drug Use Services in Virginia
The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) is partnering with the OMNI Institute to better understand youth alcohol and drug use in Virginia. We are asking caregivers of youth with alcohol or drug use concerns to take a brief survey to help us better understand service needs. For this survey, we are defining alcohol and drug use as “the use of illegal drugs or the use of alcohol or of prescription or over-the-counter drugs for purposes other than those for which they are meant to be used or in excessive amounts.” For this survey, we ask that you share your experience as a caregiver to a young person (under 18) in Virginia. Throughout the survey, we use the term ‘caregiver’ rather than ‘parent’ because many children are cared for by adults that are not their biological or adoptive parent. Along those lines we also use “the child” to include young people that are cared for by someone who is not their biological or adoptive parent. Your responses will help bridge gaps in alcohol and drug use services for young people in Virginia.
Responses to this survey are confidential and your individual answers will only be shared along with all responses received. Upon completion of the survey you will receive a $20 Visa Gift Card.
