Introduction
The George Washington University (GW) Cancer Institute is a chartered institute of the George Washington University. The vision of the GW Cancer Institute is to set the standard for patient-centered care and eliminate cancer health disparities. The mission of the institute is to ensure access to quality, patient-centered care across the cancer continuum through community engagement, patient and family empowerment, health care professional education, policy advocacy and collaborative multi-disciplinary research.
The institute occupies a unique niche at GW, focusing on the application and translation of evidence-based research with a focus on patient education, engagement, support and health promotion; clinician and public health professional education; advocacy; and health services research. Its membership is comprised of researchers, clinicians and staff invested in cancer program activities across GW. The institute is interested in your input.
