Outstanding First Year Advocate Award 2026 Nomination Form

The purpose of the Outstanding First Year Advocate Award is to recognize faculty (i.e. professors), university staff members (i.e. full-time employees), and student staff leaders (i.e., mentors, tutors, peer leaders, RAs, orientation leaders) who excel in supporting first-year students and the goals of the First Year Experience program.
Nominees for the Outstanding First Year Advocate Award may have:
• Assisted in successfully acclimating first-year students to the university
• Provided tools and/or support to first-year students
• Helped first-year students achieve academic and/or personal success
• Promoted a welcoming campus environment among first-year students
• Exhibited a welcoming attitude that fostered a positive first year experience
• Demonstrated outstanding commitment to first-year student success in and/or outside of the classroom
• Encouraged student involvement on campus and/or within the community among first-year students
• Provided a single moment of meaningful support or support over a longer period of time
