Counselor Education Summit: Advancing Pedagogy, Ethics, and Leadership Presenter Application

Proposals are due by 6/15/26.

The Summit Sessions will be 2 hours long.

The Counselor Education Virtual Summit will take place on Friday 10/2/26 via zoom.

FMHCA invites counselor educators and doctoral students to submit proposals for a one-day virtual professional development event focused on strengthening teaching, supervision, leadership, research, and gatekeeping within Counselor Education and Supervision programs. This summit is designed to provide practical, high-quality training that supports counselor educators in navigating the evolving demands of the profession. Presentations should emphasize applied strategies, ethical decision-making, and innovative approaches that enhance student development and professional readiness.
Submission Focus Areas
Proposals should align with one or more of the following thematic areas:
Pedagogy and Instructional Innovation
Ethics, Gatekeeping, and Professional Responsibility
Supervision and Clinical Training
Counselor Educator Identity, Mentorship, and Leadership
Research in Counselor Education

Please be aware that any proposal submitted will need to meet the criteria for Continuing Education credits. These criteria are established by professional organizations with whom FMHCA is associated for the purpose of providing CEs to persons attending our webinars.
  • Provide a description, of the content of your presentation, specifying who is teaching each component (if more than one presenter is teaching) and how long each component is expected to take (in minutes).
  • Indicate which of your objectives is being addressed for each component.
  • If your presentation includes a “group process,” you are still expected to outline the expected flow and time elements of that process. Do not list “group process” and not include the details.
To describe your learning objectives, make statements that indicate what the attendees will be able to do after your presentation.

Presentation Description Requirements 

In order to ensure compliance with ethical standards in the mental health profession as well as standards of accreditation bodies such as the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), presenters must include in their presentation descriptions the accuracy and utility of the materials presented, the empirical basis of such statements, and the limitations of the content being taught.

27.On-Demand Webinar/ Virtual Event Terms (Optional Agreement)

This agreement outlines the terms and conditions regarding the inclusion of your webinar/ virtual event in the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association’s (FMHCA) on-demand webinar/ virtual event program. By signing this agreement, you, the presenter, acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Webinar Recording and Distribution
- FMHCA will record the live webinar/virtual event presentation.
- The recorded webinar/virtual event will be made available as part of FMHCA’s on-demand webinar program and may be offered to the public indefinitely.

2. Ownership and Licensing
-Presenter grants FMHCA a non-exclusive, perpetual license to distribute the webinar recording, including any accompanying materials, through its on-demand platform.
-All intellectual property rights to the presentation content remain with you, the presenter, provided FMHCA retains the right to use the content for educational and promotional purposes.

3. Presentation Content
-Presenter agrees that the webinar/virtual event content will be factual, educational, and culturally sensitive.
-Presenter will ensure that all materials used during the webinar/virtual event, including slides, handouts, and visual aids, comply with copyright laws and include proper citations.

4. Accompanying Materials
-Presenter agrees to submit all relevant materials, such as handouts, worksheets, or additional resources, for use alongside the webinar recording on the on-demand platform.
-These materials will remain available to webinar participants indefinitely unless otherwise agreed.

5. Quiz Submission
-Presenter agree to provide a 10-question quiz that aligns with the webinar content. This quiz will be used for the on-demand version of the webinar/virtual event to support participant learning and engagement.

6. Marketing and Promotion
-FMHCA reserves the right to use the language submitted in your application, including learning objectives, presenter biographies, and webinar descriptions, for marketing purposes.

7. Professional References
-FMHCA reserves the right to verify your professional references as part of the application process.

8. Compliance with FMHCA Standards
-Presenter agrees to adhere to FMHCA’s standards and policies, ensuring that your presentation aligns with the organization’s mission and educational goals

9. Exclusive License and Copyright Ownership
FMHCA will hold sole copyright ownership of the recorded presentation in its entirety. The Presenter grants FMHCA an exclusive license, including all rights, title, and interest in and to the presentation, for use within FMHCA’s educational programming.

28.Presenter Agreement

This Agreement is made between the Florida Mental Health Counseling Association (FMHCA) and the "Presenter". The terms outlined below govern the Presenter’s obligations and FMHCA’s expectations for delivering a two-hour presentation as part of FMHCA’s educational programming.

1. Presentation Timing
The Presenter agrees to begin the presentation promptly at the scheduled start time and conclude at the designated end time. It is the Presenter’s responsibility to ensure the content is delivered within the allotted time while maintaining audience engagement and meeting learning objectives.

2. Content Accuracy and Relevance
The Presenter represents and warrants that the content of the presentation will adhere strictly to the topic agreed upon with FMHCA. The Presenter further guarantees that all information presented will be accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with professional standards in the mental health counseling field.

3. Originality and Copyright
The Presenter represents and warrants that all materials presented are original works created solely by the Presenter, except for public domain material or excerpts from the works of others, which may be incorporated with full right and authority. It is the Presenter’s responsibility to secure all necessary permissions, releases, waivers, or licenses for third-party content used in the presentation and provide copies of such materials to FMHCA upon request.

4. Compliance with Standards
The Presenter agrees to conduct the presentation in a professional manner and comply with FMHCA policies and guidelines. The Presenter also agrees to notify FMHCA of any changes to the presentation content or timing in advance for approval.

5. Indemnification
The Presenter agrees to indemnify and hold FMHCA harmless from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from breaches of this Agreement, including but not limited to copyright infringement or failure to deliver the presentation as agreed.

6. Impact of Non-Compliance
The Presenter acknowledges that failure to meet the terms of this Agreement—including, but not limited to, starting and ending on time, delivering accurate and relevant content, and adhering to professional standards—may negatively impact the Presenter’s ability to participate in future FMHCA events, webinars, or programming opportunities.

7. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between FMHCA and the Presenter regarding the subject matter herein and supersedes any prior agreements, written or verbal.
