Hello MNCS Secondary Families and Students:

The MNCS Staff are looking forward to Fall 2021 and we hope you are too!

One change for fall is our advisor line-up. Cory Anda has decided to shift to teaching our 5th & 6th graders at the elementary and Aaron Grimm is moving back to the secondary to advise 7th-12th graders. They are both excited to take on different roles at MNCS next year.

2021-2022 MNCS Secondary Community Groups
To further our goal of providing a team for each MNCS student, we will continue to use community groupings next year. Other than the addition of Aaron Grimm, there are no changes to the community groupings this coming fall.

The communities are 3 smaller advisories connected to form a larger group (see the diagram below). Each student will have a lead advisor but all staff within the community will collaborate to support each student. This means if your student’s lead advisor has stepped out to take a call, is working with another student, or is absent that day, there are other adults in the community who know your student (how they learn, what they are working on etc.) and will be able to assist them more efficiently and effectively.

Can you and your student(s) still request their lead advisor?
Absolutely! On the survey below, select the advisors that you think will be the best fit for your student
  • Discuss the choices below with your student/s and write in their first, second, and third choice advisors and include a reason for each choice.
  • Complete an individual form for every MNCS secondary student in your family.
  • MNCS staff will do their best to honor requests.
Please complete this 2021-2022 MNCS Advisor Selection Form by Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

If the form is not completed, then MNCS staff will need to select the advisor they feel will be best for your student.

If you have any questions or need this document in another form, please contact Nancy Pfarr at npfarr@newcountryschool.com
