#SaveOurSector!

Sunderland’s independent Voluntary Sector, through its innovation and creativity, continues to deliver essential support to individuals, families, and communities throughout the City. However, National Insurance Contribution (NIC) increases have been a persistent topic of discussion. VONNE's CEO, Martin Brookes, has recently reported that the rises in NIC are projected to cost the Northeast charity sector a staggering £19.5 million.

This survey aims to understand the concerns and impacts of these proposed increases on the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in Sunderland.
We would like to understand how big a problem this change is for the VCS in Sunderland – both in terms of the number of organisations, the total expected rise in NIC, the impact on services delivered and staffing in the sector.
