On Tuesday, July 20, the Williamsport Area School Board approved the district’s 2021-2022 Health & Safety Plan for public review and input. Should any member of the Williamsport community, including employees, wish to provide feedback on the plan, an opportunity to do so is available by filling out the survey below.
 
The 2021-2022 Health & Safety Plan is open for public review and input starting Wednesday, July 21, through Thursday, July 29.   

Question Title

* 1. Section A. Universal and correct wearing of masks: Schools will open with mask coverings as optional at the personal choice and preference of our families.

* 2. Section B. Social distancing: Schools will maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from others to the maximum extent possible.

* 3. Section C. Hand-washing and sanitation: Schools will continue to encourage hand-washing and maintain sanitation efforts and practices.

* 4. Section D. Cleaning and maintaining healthy facilities, including improving ventilation: The district will continue to proactively clean and sanitize facilities, including additional sanitation efforts in areas where positive cases have been confirmed.

Section E. Contact tracing in combination with isolation and quarantine in collaboration with state and local health departments: Protocols will be followed as recommended by the PA Department of Health. Notifications of positive cases will be sent to buildings affected and individual students/families.

* 6. Section F. Diagnostic screen and testing: All staff in the district will be provided basic training on protocols for monitoring children for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 based on the most current guidance.

* 7. Section G. Efforts to provide vaccinations to school communities: The district will coordinate with community partners and rely upon local health providers to lead vaccination clinics within the community.

* 8. Section H. Appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities with respect to health and safety policies: Schools will open with mask coverings as optional at the personal choice and preferences of our families.

* 9. Section I. Coordination with state and local health officials: Depending upon the public health conditions in the county, the district's plan needs to be flexible, adaptable, and change with new developments.
