Hands on Robotics Workshop

Event Description:

Solar Turbines will be hosting a PTC Hands On Workshop (or HOW) for FTC and FRC FIRST Teams in the area. The workshop will be a comprehensive review of preparing for the 2013 season. Along with some great general information and design process advice, the class will include the use of PTC's Creo, Mathcad, and Windchill tools to help teams through the design process.

The class will be conducted on October 6, 2012 from 8AM to 5PM. Lunch will be provided.

We are asking you arrive at least 30 minutes early to aid in check-in and pre-class logistics.

Solar Turbines is located at Hawthorne and Harbor Drive just south of Lindberg Field. Directions and other information will be provided prior to the class through email.

Registration runs through October 3, 2012. We must have an individual survey for each attendee and each attendee must at least be in 9th grade to participate.

There are 50 spaces for students and mentors offered on a first registered, first served basis. There will also be 36 laptop computers available for use during the class. Personal laptops are encouraged (Windows operating system) and instructions will be emailed out on how to set up for the class prior to arriving. It will not be possible to accommodate desktop computers or any other machine with a separate monitor and CPU.

I will bring my own laptop. (You will need to go to www.ptc.com/go/firstgettingstarted and set your computer up with Creo 2.0 and Mathcad. A reminder will be sent prior to the class to email provided.) (Thank you!)
