About the Group Being Formed:
The United Way Windsor Essex is looking for youth between the ages of 15 to 29 who live in Windsor Essex County but preference will be given to the Downtown, West Windsor & Leamington communities. This group will talk about the challenges youth face with employment. Group members will work together at bi-weekly 1.5/2 hour meetings to create solutions to barriers that will be developed into a plan for our partner Workforce Windsor Essex to release to the community. These solutions will help bring development of youth-focused employment and career attainment supports. Eligibility Applicants must live in Windsor- Essex County. Applicants must be between15-29 years of age at time of application.
Members of this advisory group are paid to participate in meetings. The amount of payment is $16.55/hour. Payment is issued via e-transfer or mail. Access to supports in order to attend meetings is available including technology, childcare and translation services.
There are several questions in the survey. These questions help us determine eligibility, representation of the demographics of the community and life experience of applicants so that we can create a diversity of representation at the table. It should take you about 10 minutes to complete. If you are selected for membership a staff will contact you by June 3 2027 (or as close to as possible). If you are not selected to be a member at this time, you will be notified and your application and contact information will be saved for future opportunities.
