United Way's Executive Leadership Development Program is an immersive, months-long practical leadership development experience. It is designed to build leadership capacity, hone United Way’s CEO competencies, and create a strong network of peers.

Participants are Executive Leaders (CEOs, Presidents, Executive Directors) of a local United Way who: 
  • Are prepared to dedicate the time for their development and support of their peers. 
  • Demonstrate United Way's CEO Competencies of Visionary, Organizational Leadership, Influence in the Marketplace, Grow Business and Revenue, Partnership Mindset and Network-Oriented.
  • Interested in growing their leadership capacity. 
Applications must include the following items and be submitted by Wednesday, May 26th at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Incomplete applications will not be considered.  
  • Completed Board Chair Nomination Form (download here).
  • Letter of intent that describes the applicant's interest and goals in the program.
  • Current resume of the applicant.
  • Biography of the applicant (used in promotion, if accepted).
  • High-resolution photo of the applicant (used in promotion, if accepted).
